crown & goose

a brief follow-up to ck's earlier post. the crown and goose's website is up. the gastropub itself will be open to the public on march 6th. if the bar's atmosphere is a half as good as their website design, then i will dub this place 'stan's tavern of choice'--a position coveted by all local establishments. actually, both of those statements are lies. good atmosphere (and beer, and food) always trumps website design and no one cares to have me as a regular. trust me.

I'm looking forward to the opening. We'll be expecting a full-blown exhaustive review right here, post-haste. Pay special attention to the beer selection, please.

on the events tab on their site, the first one is "young professionals of knoxville happy hour" on april third. we need to go crash that!
btw, do you think that this is the young professionals program that the guys at knoxify have? if so, kudos to them for getting a special happy hour.

ck, yeah that's them. a while ago, i wanted to join ypk but apparently enrollment was already closed (apparently i heard about it too late or something). sounds pretty exclusive, huh? weird. they are having enrollment again if you want to join. i could nominate you. you are a young professional. apparently so am i. i thought about joining but then i realized i dont really like doing things. like joining groups or schmoozing with strangers or paying money for stuff. or things in general.

i do like drinking beer though.

I am so unprofessional.

should we start a group called "a loose affiliation of uncommitted knoxvillians" or LAUK for short? or maybe that sounds like we're proud that we haven't been to an asylum? but it would be free of charge, if that helps.

love it, stan. i'm in. but only if it's a loose affiliation. i dont want to have to commit to being affiliated with anyone, particularly myself.

Doesn't this already constitute a "loose affiliation of uncommitted Knoxvillians?"

but we've never referred to ourselves as that in quotes before. that's the key. quotations marks determine everything.

Hmm. Good point, Stan. Trapped by punctuation once again.
