Sundown in the City '09

I love Sundown in the City because it's always feels like the unofficial start to summer in Knoxville (ok, I know April is a little early for summer, but as a UT student it always felt close). Plus, who can complain about free concerts on Market Square?

AC Entertainment has revealed the lineup for 2009. It's as random as usual, with a little something for everyone. Arrested Development kicks it off on April 9th. Cowboy Mouth is coming, as is Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Gavin Rossdale, Dave Barnes and Shooter Jennings.

Who are you most excited about?

there are some people that complain about free concerts on market square. i.e. the sweet wonderful employees of local businesses that have to corral drunk teenagers out of their establishments.

i know if i was in high school i'd hate me, but i wish you had to be at least 18 to get in. it gets wild in there.

i love how random that line up is. May 7th is lookin' mighty fine!

Arrested Development! I love me some early 90s non-offensive alternative hip-hop.

Methinks B is a bit bitter about being a server in Market Square...

I guess now is a good time to remind everyone to be nice to your Market Square servers or at least tip well.

I interviewed on of the guys from Big Head Todd back in the olde days of working at The Daily Beacon. I never met em in the flesh, that will be kinda cool. Of course, reggae nights always bring on a colorful vibe with the Pachouli crowd.
