your weekend in Knoxville

There's a lot of fun stuff going on this weekend. Here's a brief summary:

Friday:

Metropulse's Best of Knoxville celebration party is tonight at The Cider House. The Cider House is in the warehouse district next to the Valarium. Best Knoxville Band winners The Dirty Guv'nahs are playing. The fun begins at 8pm, and it's free. Some of us will be there; come celebrate our win with us.

Buddy Guy is at the Tennessee Theatre Tonight.

The very fun, very awesome band Southern Culture on the Skids is playing at the equally fun and awesome Square Room on Market Square tonight. Go get your banana puddin on.

One of my personal favorite bands, The Felice Brothers, will be drinking and playing at Barley's tonight, at around 10pm. This week's issue of the MP has a nice article about them and their style. I'm hoping the play The Ballad of Lou the Welterweight this time around.

The Clarence Brown Theatre's got Tommy. Tommy can you hear me?

On Saturday, you've got the Farmer's Market back on Market Square from 9 to 2.

Amos Lee is playing the Bijou and Jay Leno will be at the Tennessee Theatre.

And on Sunday you've got a big Cinco de Mayo celebration at World's Fair Park.

Oh, and tonight, Friday, is May's First Fridays celebration downtown. Check out the goodies along Gay Street, in the Old City and in the surrounding downtown area.

xoxo

I hear that Tommy plays a mean pinball.

I think no one in the city of Knoxville can complain about being bored this weekend.

Also: TN Valley Bikes grand opening is tonight and the scavenger hunt bike ride is tomorrow.

(and if you haven't seen my artwork at the downtown T Head, tonight's your last chance!)

I'm just hoping that the rain holds off for my first Friday shenanigans. Gods know I need it after this week.
