"Jesus takes away bad dreams"

This seems to be popping up around town. Anyone have an idea where it started or who is behind it?

This one was found on Gay Street (can I still say that?) and one of our own had a note with the same message left on their door one night. I've seen it in the form of graffiti, notes, and pieces of paper on stuff.

Thoughts? Questions? Theological ponderings?

I got this message hand-written in my mailbox about two months ago. South Knoxville near Food City and Kroger on Chapman. I assumed it was a crazy neighbor.

I've seen people putting them up. It's a pair of people, one man and one woman. They're sorta hippyish.

I'd be tempted to add "Also does lawn work and drywall. Pick-up at Home Depot in the a.m."

Interesting little piece of "viral art." One wonders whether it's sincere, ironic, or post-ironic.

there's also at least one of these at the corner of volunteer and cumberland. very interesting...i'm leaning toward ironic.

One on campus says, "Jesus takes away bad dreams" and someone has added "and unwanted body hair."

which i like very much.

There's one on an electrical box across Fifth Avenue from Minvilla Manor.

I assumed it was wishful thinking scrawled by a mentally ill homeless citizen.

There was one on my front door! I've also seen one on the BArley's dumpster.

I live in madisonville tennessee which is about an hour south of knoxville. Here, the saying has been posted on businesses as well as in mailboxes. But it has also been associated with crime. A girl had her GPS stolen from her vehicle and a note with the saying was left in its place. There is a building in town that is for sale and stays locked and there is one taped to the inside window. Sounds like it must be a group of people.

I was on the patio at Koi on Sunday, when a clean but rough-faced man in his late 40s, early 50s came up to my friends and I and awkwardly mumbled something about Jesus taking away bad dreams. Then he said, "I know that's weird, I'm sorry" and walked away. Later I found a small, hand-written note on my car that said the same thing. So maybe he's kind of like the street preachers on campus?

My friend found one inside of the little gas tank door. Kind of weird and unsettling.

I just found one today! It was on my driverside window when I came out of Panera in Ftn. City. It kind of creeped me out but was kind of cool too.

There was a 3x5 note card left in my car door today with this message on it. I was parked at the lot on the corner of Walnut and Church and I didn't see them on any other cars in the lot.

This was on a bulletin board outside my apartment a few months ago, then today at Walmart, it was left on a note stuck in my car door. A friend suggested I Google it to see if anyone else had experience with it and I found you all. Good to know it's not a "stalker" as some of my Facebook friends suggested. I was starting to get creeped out!

I had my house robbed this morning and as I was leaving work to go deal with the police I had one of these on a 3x5 note card stuck in the hinge of my door handle. I looked around at all the other cars in the very large parking lot I was in and no one else had them on their cars. I am hoping this is an odd coincidence but I am worried it isn't.

I've been curious about this for quite some time. Early one morning last winter,.I spotted a scruffy middle-aged fellow wearing camoflauged pants walking around South Knoxville just behind City Gas. As he peered into car windows and mailboxes, he randomly seemed to leave these little notes here and there. I couldn't quite determine whether or not he was looking for valuables; it seemed more as though he was making some sort of character judgement based on what was in each vehicle or on the house with which each mailbox was associated. I had seen it written on brochures from Fort Hill Baptist Church from time to random time, left on porches or on the ground. The hand-writing is fairly consistent, though it seems as though this is the effort of a larger group. I lean more towards the possibility that it is pointed at folks and their worldly possessions, which may account for the robberies and placement on automobiles (based on their contents, whether they be expensive, or where they are parked).

There was a 3x5 card with it wedged in the door of my car at Tanger outlets in Sevierville. Fuckers.

A guy stopped by where I work in East Maryville today with a stack of these little cards. He tried to give them to us, but we chased him off. Then he tried to stuff them in the free-info box outside the building. He said he was "walking to Knoxville." Weird.

The latest ones downtown say "Jesus takes away bad dreams ask God". I would think God could handle that himself.

A google search tells me that these signs ( in similar handwriting) have been posted/seen in Nashville, and in NYC during the Occupy shindig. very weird.

Best alteration seen today: Jesus takes away bad dreams ask Kony

The shit-wits that put up these signs must have run out of paper and packing tape recently because they were scrawling directly on public property with sharpies. Oh how I wish they would get caught and arrested for doing this!

I absolutely love these posters. I'm a follower of Jesus, and there is no other name by which we have any power. To those who are beautifully desperate for something outside themselves: cry out to Jesus. A handful of friends of mine have been having odd, scary dreams, or have woken up to dark figures choking or breathing over them. When they whisper the name "Jesus," the figures leave. Truly, truly, there is a spiritual world that we can not see, and Jesus is the most good, powerful ruler over all. We can trust in Him.

There is POWER in the name of Jesus.

I saw these on the Metro Pulse dispenser things in Downtown Knoxville sometime last winter. I'm not from Knoxville, so I thought it was slightly odd, however the person I was with stayed in Knox often and said she's seen them around multiple times in multiple parts of the city.

Seeing this at the knoxville courthouse and on Clinton. Hwy. Keep it going, its true

Somebody posted one of these near a Street crossing on the NGCSU campus in dahlonega,Ga. It says "Jesus takes bad dream's aks God" the handwriting seems similar, interesting that it's made its way around like that.
